Directions/Map Back to Top
From Paris Court Square, take 79 East toward Dover for approximately 7 miles. Turn left (North) on Buchanan Road and follow for approximately 6 and 1/2 miles until the intersection with Highway 140. Turn left (West) on Highway 140. Within 50 yards will be an intersection with Rabbit Creek Road, and then with Claytontown Road. Turn right (North) on Claytontown Road and follow for approximately 1/2 mile, (you are now facing West) where the road bends to the right (or there is a turn, I cannot remember) and remains as Claytontown Road. After less than 1/2 mile, turn right (East) on Dale Cemetery Road. After about 2 and 1/2 miles you will approach an intersection with Blood River Church Road. About 50-70 feet North and on the East side of the road is the Fisher Cemetery, inside a grove of evergreen trees.

Travel time from Paris Court Square is approximately 25-30 minutes.

Condition Back to Top
The Fisher Cemetery sits between two intersections on Dale Cemetery Road, near the Blood River Church of Christ in a grove of evergreen trees. You could very easily miss the cemetery if not aware of its location. Two stones stand proudly and are seen from the road, but they are in a knee-deep tangle of brush that kept us from getting any nearer. We took what pictures we could and have made plans to revisit this cemetery when winter has reduced the brush and ticks.

The Fisher Cemetery is not regulary tended. However, the stones we did see are not showing much sign of neglect. We are confident that stones in the Fisher cemetery are in good condition, however we cannot give a firm judgement on its condition until the brush comes down in the Winter.

Strangely, there is no listing in the compendium for this cemetery, although the Dale Cemetery is listed and sits about 100 yards south of the Fisher Cemetery.
